The Pacific Northwest
Includes the American states: Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
Why is it called the Pacific Northwest?
These states border the Pacific Ocean, as well as being located in the North West of North America (the USA).
“America” in general, from another Western country, or from anywhere, for that matter.
Perhaps it’s a fait accompli, and you’re otw, as we say, here in (what I think of as) the Tech (& Grunge) City, known as Seattle. After all, it’s home to: Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Adobe, Boeing, some Google offices, and many tech startups.
What is the general vibe?
Seattle is considered, on the whole, to be quite an intellectual city. Many residents are quite liberal-minded, and accepting of others. My parents claimed that the people they encountered were friendlier than Aussies, and that’s a generous statement!
