I'm known by Liesel or Liese. In 2005, I emigrated from Australia to become a new settler in Seattle, Washington State, USA. Since living in the States, I’ve experienced surprising American idiosyncrasies that I want to share with other newbies. In doing so, I hope that you'll be better prepared than I was, to fit into American society. What prompted me to share this information? Not long after arrival, I had an experience at the USPS (United States Postal Service) with a postal worker who said “I don't know what you're talking about lady!”. Hopefully this won't happen to you! 😁
